Rolling Stone magazine releases their top 500 songs of all time list
Rolling Stone magazine has recently released their list of the top 500 greatest songs of all time, according to them. Surprise, surprise, as usual RS proves themselves to be either mentally challenged or totally incapable of judging musical merit. According to them Eminem's Lose Yourself is the third greatest hip-hop song of all time behind Public Enemy's Bring The Noise and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five's The Message... yes, and RS would also have you believe that the world is indeed flat. I'm not going to even comment on the way they ranked other genres on their list, which I also beleive was influenced by a terrible crack habit. I'm not going to even post their list on this site, they don't deserve that accreditation. But if you are out of paper in the restroom and in close vicinity of RS magazine, this list serves a very good purpose, with it's large sized pages and all. Why doesn't RS just go out and say that they don't consider hip-hop a respectable art form instead of picking a couple random songs with their eyes closed? These contemptous selections are nothing more than a half-assed attempt to avoid appearing ignorant towards hip-hop, because obviously they don't listen to it. So, RS, next time you make a bullshit list like this please leave hip-hop out of it, gracias.
