Ummmm.....I am not too sure of that. She's had great fashion sense lately. And yeah she dropped an album Ashanti this year, after a brief hiatis, but how is a flop a big comeback??? Her album The Declaration tanked!!!! I just need to know. Anyway, Nelly's boo is on the cover of the new issue of Today's Black Woman Magazine and get's the title of being "The Biggest Comeback Story of the Year," which in my opinion is far from reality. Even, Ashanti's boo Nelly failed to have a great sales debut with his album Brass Knuckles. Oh well, at least they still have each other....
Wow....album sales seem to keep getting lower and lower for me...Nevertheless, Ne-Yo and Nelly actually had a better week on the charts versus the albums which debuted last week. Ne-Yo clocked in at #2 with his new album Year of the Gentlemen at 250,000 copies so he definitely has something to smile about. Nelly, on the other hand, is putting those gold fronts in jeopardy as Brass Knuckles only sold about 84,000 copies at #3. If you compare that with the success of his last album, which sold in the range of 396,000-342,000 copies, his current sales are not that great. I mean, LL Cool J was all bothered that he sold about 40,000 copies while Jessica Simpson sold more than him. Well, Nelly is not too far off the mark....Haha!! I knew that he wasn't going to do as good as he usually does, but I thought he would at least sell over 100,000 copies in the first week. He did get close, however. Raphael Saadiq sold about 23,000 copies. Anyway, what is up with Nelly's decline? Do you think that the listeners are getting tired of his material? Before I get out of there, lookout for the results next week on Jazmine Sullivan, Joe, and The Pussycat Dolls...
Everytime I see Ashanti here lately, she has been in some tight a** pants. Haha!! I can't see how she can move in those things. She and her booboo Nelly performed "Body On Me" along with crazy Akon. The song is on both Nelly and Ashanti's albums. I was just waiting for Akon to reach out and smack a fan....
Here you go ladies....Check out Nelly in this new Sean John ad. I've never had a thing for Nelly, but I gotta admit he is looking good in his Sean John photos...LOL!!
Lovebirds Nelly and Ashanti are shown here performing "Body On Me" with Akon on the Jay Leno Show. Nelly's album Brass Knuckles hit stores yesterday. Did anyone buy it?
Ahhhh Nelly! How you gonna let Bow Wow school you like that???!!! I am surprised Nelly didn't twist his ankle or that his shoes didn't go flying off into the stands and hit someone in the head! Haha! Now that really would have been funny! They were both playing the So So Def 2008 Celebrity Basketball Game.
This new pic of Ashanti and Nelly at Day One of TJ's DJ's Tastemakers DJ/Music Conference party on August 8, 2008 in Houston, Texas, further confirms that the couple is still holding strong. I guess Nelly had to be all GQ in the pic. Ashanti is just cheesing and he is just staring at the camera. I notice that a lot of guys do that. Haha!
Ok ladies, if you are not feeling Nelly's new body then I don't know what to tell ya. I was never a big Nelly fan at first but after he went on that Billy Blanks diet I've been hooked. So check out his Sean John photoshoot and tell me who's got a better body Nelly or LL?
Contrary to some recent reports that stated that Nelly was now dating British singer Joss Stone, Ashanti's "good, good" is still working wonders in her relationship with Nelly. According to Ashanti, the couple is still stronger than ever and she is not giving up her Sean Jean spokesmodel anytime soon. The singer tells Page Six that Nelly is "an amazing person with a big heart, who’s taught me a lot." She also stated that they are not engaged at the moment, but she would love to have kids in the future. It's good to hear that things are still going good in their relationship. I thought I was going to have to slap Nelly on Ashanti's behalf for cheating on her. Haha!
Love sizzles in the music industry too. Frequently, entertainers and artists get into relationships. I thought I would create a poll to find out who's your favorite couple in the music industry. Notice that all of the couples that I picked are either rappers or singers. I still put Ashanti and Nelly in the pool, even though there have been rumors that they have broken up. The rumor still hasn't been confirmed so I thought I would add them. I probably missed a few of them, but I just thought I would mention the ones that I could think of right off the top of my head! Forgive me if I missed anyone. This question is a tough one for me, but I think Beyonce' and Jay-Z are my favorite! What's yours? Enjoy the poll above!
Check out this pic of Diddy and Nelly. Is this the reason why Diddy really isn't get married to Cassie and why Ashanti and Nelly aren't seeing each other anymore? Hmmmmmm????? My mind is wondering. Haha! Apparently, according to Allhiphop.com, Nelly has been handpicked by Diddy himself to be the spokesperson for Sean Jean underwear. I don't know about you guys, but I think Diddy is a little more excited than some of you are about seeing Nelly in some briefs! They look a little cozy in this photo don't ya think? Them brothas on the DL! Haha! Nelly says that he is pretty much honored to be appearing in Diddy's campaign. I say, we better watch out for these two!
Could those Ashanti and Nelly breakup rumors be true? DailyNews reports that Ashanti is out there giving advice on how to get over a man. Also, she stated that she is "dating her music right now." Hmmmmm? Now, this has got me thinking. Did Joss Stone really come between Nelly and Ashanti? It could be possible if those breakup rumors are true. What's really funny about this situation is how Ashanti is prancing around in her new video "Good, Good" telling women what they need to do to keep a man and she couldn't even keep her own. I guess having all of that "good, good" isn't enough to keep these men around. Supposedly, their breakup was a nasty one too. And I'm sure it was if it had to do with Nelly cheating. I am still holding out hope that this one is not true. I like them together.
What? I am confused about this one. How can Joss Stone be dating Nelly when he is dating Ashanti? According to a British newspaper called the DailyMirror, the two have been secretly dating and have been out on a few dates. I am not convinced that this rumor is true. I mean, Nelly just released the video "Body On Me" Featuring his boo Ashanti and Akon. So this just could be a rumor. I hope it is because I actually like Ashanti and Nelly together. They seem so happy. I guess things with Joss Stone and Rafael Saadiq did not work out. They were hot and heavy for a while. Her last album Introducing Joss Stone was good by the way if you haven't heard it. Rafael did a lot of work on that album. Anyway, if this is true, Nelly has some explaining to do. Haha! I guess we will just have to see what the verdict is on this one, but I am betting it is just a fabricated lie.
The other day I posted a small video preview of this video. Since then, the full version of this video has premiered. This video is cool and all and looks fun. However, I just don't really like the song though. It seems that a lot of people are feeling it and I think the single is radio friendly no doubt. I just don't like it though. Haha! To me, there is just nothing catchy about it and the beat is just typical. Let me know what you think of the video!
I really don't like this song at all. It will be included on Nelly's album and is on Ashanti's album as well. This track is just average to me. Maybe Nelly thought a collaboration with Ashanti and Akon would help out this song, but they couldn't even save it. The beat isn't even hot! I don't think Nelly wanted to face/off with Jeezy either because he pushed back the release date of Brass Knuckles to September. So now Jeezy will be facing off with The Game. Oooooohh, that should be a good one! I will have to do a poll on that one in a few days. Anyway, the video does look a little fun and I think the fans will love it, however. Check out the preview and let me know what you think!
Well, it looks like over the past few days, Nelly edged out Jeezy in our poll on which rapper is going to sell the most records. Nelly ended up having 56% of the votes, while Jeezy had 44%. It has been a tight race and Jeezy was leading in the beginning, but Nelly eventually ended up taking it home. I still think Jeezy is going to sell more albums, but I guess we will have to see when the albums come out. This is, indeed, a sign that Nelly has some supporters out there.
As many of you may know, The Source Magazine has been dead for years. And I have to be blame no one, other than the man himself, Benzino! Now that Benzino has been overthrown, can The Source Magazine reclaim the crown that it once held? I am a bit skeptical on this. True, The Source used to be a shrine for hip-hop, but it's credibility has dwindled throughout the years. They have a new editor-and-chief now, so there is hope. However, you have to think about how powerful the internet is now. Blogsites are really huge and many people prefer the online magazine experience versus the traditional, in-store magazine. Indeed, there are a lot of magazines out there generating a huge amount of income right now, but with the increasing power of the internet, I am confident that profit sales will decrease. That may already be happening right now. Whether The Source Magazine will make a comeback or not remains to be seen.
The Sources' first comeback issue will feature Nelly on the cover for the month of August. On the cover, Nelly looks like a hitman. Nelly has been absent from the music scene for about four years. He is ready to release his new album Brass Knuckles on August 19, 2008. I think Nelly's album will sell well. However, I do not think he will have record-breaking sales. What do you think? Will Brass Knuckles be one of the biggest selling albums of the year?
Check out this photo of Ashanti and Nelly at a pre-BET Awards dinner on Monday at Vibiana in Los Angeles, where Nelly co-hosted. Ashanti just released her new album The Declaration on June 3rd. The album is actually pretty good.
Hey guys! Sorry I have been M.I.A for a few days. I have been out of town. Now, I am back! Haha......Anyway, check out the video premiere of "Stepped on My J's" by Nelly, which features Ciara and Jermaine Dupri. This is the second single from his upcoming album Brass Knuckles, which will hit stores on August 19th. Let me know what you think about the video.
There is a lot of drama going on between Nelly and a rap group that goes by the name of Da Banggaz314. Apparently, the group is signed to Atlantic Records/7Fourteen Entertainment and they are claiming that Nelly jacked their song, which shares the same name as Nelly's. The group claims that back in 2006, they came out with a mixtape, which had a song on it titled "Stepped on My J's. They garnered a lot of feedback for the song and were eventually signed to Atlantic Records. Da Banggaz314 claims that Nelly did not steal the song, but instead they state that he stole their concept. Personally, I don't believe that he jacked the track, especially if the phase is commonly used. What do you guys think? Listen to both of the tracks below. At first, you will hear Da Banggaz version. Then, you will hear Nelly's version at the end. Let me know what you think. The songs sound totally different to me. It is definitely possible that he stole the concept since they are both based in St. Louis. However, do you think that they have the right to sue in court?
