Blueprint 3 is probably one of the most anticipated albums this year. Recently, the cover art to Jay Z's upcoming album Blueprint 3 was revealed. The album is scheduled for release on September 11th, which is a date that we all know far too well. So far, the album is marked with collaborations from Kid Cudi, Rihanna, Kanye West, Mr. Hudson, Nas, and Drake. On the production side of the spectrum, Timbaland, No I.D, MGMT, and Kanye West, add their musical touches to the album. In fact, Kanye appears to have the most production credits on this album, which was confirmed by Jay-Z earlier this year. The album's track listing has been provided below. There has been a lot of talk about Nas and Kelis. People have been saying that these two are headed for trouble and that their relationship is on the rocks...Well, that doesn't appear to be true now. The couple seems to be stronger than ever as Nas recently invited his wife on stage with him at a Smirnoff Party the other day to perform "If I Ruled the World." There are a lot of Nas and Kelis fans out there. I posted a poll a few months ago about couples in the music business and Jay-Z and Beyonce didn't win. It was Kelis and Nas that took the title!! Anyway, I am glad that they are still going strong!
We all have heard that The Blueprint 3 is going to drop at the end of the year. Well, it has now been confirmed by BET.com that Jay-Z will drop the album on December 2. This will be his last album under his Def Jam contract. Do you think that Jay-Z will quit rapping or do you think he will work out a new deal?
Also, in other Jay Hov news, the rapper is working on his own version of "Swagger Like Us." The original version featured Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and T.I. Jay-Z's version is going to feature Young Jeezy, Nas, and Andre 3000. Now I can already tell you that Jay-Z's version is going to be dope! I am glad he added he added these guys to the song. I was actually wondering where Jeezy was on Kanye's version.
The wifey of Nas has been acquitted of all charges relating to an incident in Miami last year. Apparently, she was charged with resisting arrest without violence and disorderly conduct after she rushed police officers at a club in South Beach. Kelis was up in the mix after police officers were questioning her hubby Nas. Basically, she was acquitted of those charges on Thursday. In a statement to the Associated Press, Kelis stated, "I am happy justice prevailed and I hope this sheds light on the fact that wearing a uniform and carrying a badge does not allow you to act above the law."
Kelis definitely wasn't playing that!! After all, she did say she was "bossy!!!" Kudos to her....
I posted a poll last week asking everyone who was their favorite couple in the music industry. Jay-Z and Beyonce started off taking the lead. However, when it was all said and done, Nas and Kelis came out on top. I think they are a really cute couple. I honestly was surprised that Jay-Z and Beyonce didn't win. I was even more surprised that Chris Brown and Rihanna didn't get any votes. I thought everyone liked them, but I guess not. Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon didn't get any votes either. Ashanti and Nelly got about two votes. Anyway, congrats to Nas and Kelis! I wish we could've had the chance to see their reality show, but it has been canned.
Love sizzles in the music industry too. Frequently, entertainers and artists get into relationships. I thought I would create a poll to find out who's your favorite couple in the music industry. Notice that all of the couples that I picked are either rappers or singers. I still put Ashanti and Nelly in the pool, even though there have been rumors that they have broken up. The rumor still hasn't been confirmed so I thought I would add them. I probably missed a few of them, but I just thought I would mention the ones that I could think of right off the top of my head! Nas join forces with the Website ColorOfChange.org to protest outside the network's Manhattan headquarters on Wednesday (July 23) and present a petition to the news organization. Color of Change gathered more than 600,000 signatures to try to curb what it considers biased reporting on Fox's part. No matter what you think of Nas you have to tip your hat to a man who is taking a stand for something.
Nas stood in front of the press and protesters and gave a prepared speech. "We already knew that Fox is not a news network; they are a propaganda machine," he said. "But their racist attacks have gone way too far. Calling Michelle Obama 'Barack's baby mama' — tell me, is that acceptable? Is that racist? Bill O'Reilly saying a 'lynching party' for Michelle Obama might be legit if she has the wrong political opinions. Is that acceptable? Is that flat-out racist?
After 5 weeks of being at the #1 spot on The Billboard 200, Lil' Wayne must now move down to the number 2 spot after selling only 105,000 copies last week. Nas took the top spot with 187,000. You can hate on Weezy F Baby all you want, but the man is selling records in the age where not even Jay-Z can go platinum right out the box.
Kelis and Nas were spotted leaving Villa Nightclub the other day. Kelis looks A LOT different, than what we are used to seeing. That colorful wig surely isn't helping the situation. She looks tired and appears to have lost some weight. Could there be trouble in the marriage of one of our favorite hip-hop couple's? Rumors are flying around that the two may be headed for trouble because Nas hasn't been sporting his wedding ring at his publicity gigs for his new album. Word on the street is that MTV cut their reality show because they were boring, which is shocking for me to hear. Actually, I am not buying that theory. They seem as if they would have a lot of fun together. Judging from this recent photo of them, something is not right. I hope that she is okay and maybe it's not a marriage problem at all. Maybe she is going through something. I can honestly say that I am rooting for this couple and I will keep them in my prayers regardless of what it is! God bless!
Nas and Keri Hilson absolutely killed it on Jimmy Kimmel Live! yesterday! Together, they performed Nas' new track, which features Keri Hilson. This was a hot performance no doubt! Keri's vocals were on point and Nas rocked the mic too! I am loving his new album and this song is a hit!

I really like this new video by Nas. It's definitely a good choice for a lead single and it has me excited about his upcoming album. And you know if you have Keri Hilson on a track, then the single is going to be explosive. In the video, Nas is walking down the street rapping while Keri Hilson is driving in a car. I wonder if we can expect a collaboration from his wife Kelis on the album. His upcoming album is currently untitled, but it will be released on July 15. He needs to come up with an album title and I am mean quickly!
In a recent interview with SPIN Magazine for their July issue Nas talks about how the decision to drop his album title came about, his Fox News song and his level of political activism and why he's no longer doing his reality show.
Why did you wait so long to change the album title if you knew it was going to be a problem?
It was a matter of deciding between changing the name or skipping the major retail outlets I knew wouldn’t carry the record and just selling it through my website and stores that had balls. [Def Jam chairman] L.A. Reid and I had a conversation — I enlightened him and he enlightened me, and he was with me. But I want as many people as possible to hear this, and it was going to be a messy battle that was going to distract from what the album had to say.
Here is the new single from Nas entitled, "Hero," which features Keri Hilson. With production from Polow Da Don, this track is definitely a good choice for a lead single. Plus, Keri Hilson is really doing her thing. His yet untitled album will be released on July 15th.
Rapper Nas changes the title of his new album from N***** to an untitled project. The album title was the center of controversy, which led the rapper to change the name of his upcoming album. Personally, I was not offended by the title, but apparently a lot of people were. However, I could see why he would change the name of the album. Today, we need to perpetuate positivity and escape the term that has negative beginnings.
