Here's some footage of Solange of Yahoo Music performing one of her favorite songs "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay and the performance is not bad. It would be unfair to compare to the original, but I just want to say that Solange is slept on forreal. Her album last year was very good. If you haven't picked up Sol Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams, then you should! That album is one of the best albums I heard in 2008. It was creative and artistic. At first I shunned the album because of her attitude towards her sister and I'm sure many of you did too. When I finally paid attention to it, I had to give the girl some props for making a good, cohesive album, in which she really put some thought into. I really respect her artistic integrity and I am definitely a fan. Forreals though; check out that album. I didn't intend to do a mini album review, but man that CD is good. LOL!!
Last week, I wanted to know if the readers thought The Game or Solange will sell the most units when their albums dropped. Well, it looks as if The Game had the best outing last week. The Game is #2 on Billboard Hot 200 Albums Chart falling behind rock group Slipnot. I am actually surprised that he did not get the #1 spot, but he did come close. Solange didn't even get close to The Game and came in at #10. I will say this that both albums are hot!
On Monday, Solange arrived on the Late Show with David Letterman. Her new album drops today. I wonder how the album is going to sell? I can't wait to hear it! Her outfit would have been cute without those pink leggings.
Solange is just really budding isn't she? I remember when her first album came out, it didn't go anywhere. I think her upcoming album is going to sell a lot better than the first one. This video is very colorful and creative. I love it! The song is pretty much just mediocre to me. It is not something that I want to listen to on a repetitive basis, but it is good though. I am lovin' Solange right now and I am so proud of her. Her stylist did a great job in the video because I am loving her make-up and clothes. That girl is really trying to get out of her sister's shadow.
Solange is preparing to debut her sophmore album ‘Sol-Angel & The Hadley Street Dreams’ which is being release August 26th. But with all the success of her big sister Beyonce will Solange be overlooked? Judging by the leak tracks "God Given Name" and "I Decide", Solange is ready to show the world that her last name doesn't define who she is. The video for her first single “I Decided” comes out early June.

Her new album Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams was released on April 26, 2008. "I Decided" is the first single from the album and is produced by Pharrell Williams. The album features appearances from Estelle, Marsha Ambrosius, Lil' Wayne, Trey Songz, and Polow Da Don.
I am really proud of Solange and wish her all the best with this new album. "I Decided" is a hot song. I like the direction that she is going with the album. Do you think she has what it takes to get out of her sister's shadow?
