Fresh off the heels of a seven-year hiatus, Whitney Houston is back with her new album, "I Look To You," which was released today on August 31, 2009. The album has been labeled her comeback album and features production from hitmarkers, such as Stargate, Swizz Beatz, Akon, Danja, and many more. According to post reviews, she's on the right track with this album. Stay tuned to stayondeck.com for an album review for I Look To You.
Akon released his album Freedom last week and is definitely in promotion mode for the project. He recently interviewed with Chelsea Lately to talk about his album and more...
For a while, I have been hearing that Michel Jackson was working with Akon on Michael's comeback album. Apparently, the two worked on a track for Akon's new album Freedom, which was released earlier this week. The track was reportedly dropped from the album's tracklisting due to being leaked over the internet and Akon is not happy about it either. He recently stated:
"Musically we were on the same level and we wanted it to be special. "We wanted it so that when people got my album, it was something that was never heard. But the leak stopped those plans."
"We will be doing more things together in the future, though." Emphasizing that Michael "is the greatest artist ever," he said, "So long as the focus is on him, people are going to ask him about the song he did with me, so then my name pops up in his interview. It works both ways."
That would've been a good opportunity for Akon to have Michael Jackson on his album. I honestly do not think Freedom will do as well as his other albums. I guess we will hear the official results soon, after the numbers are tallied for debut week.
Akon is back with a new album "Freedom," which was released on December 2nd. In the interview, he talks about T-Pain being signed to his record label, the Trinidad incident, and more.
Everytime I see Ashanti here lately, she has been in some tight a** pants. Haha!! I can't see how she can move in those things. She and her booboo Nelly performed "Body On Me" along with crazy Akon. The song is on both Nelly and Ashanti's albums. I was just waiting for Akon to reach out and smack a fan....
Lovebirds Nelly and Ashanti are shown here performing "Body On Me" with Akon on the Jay Leno Show. Nelly's album Brass Knuckles hit stores yesterday. Did anyone buy it?
E-40's back with a new video with crazy Akon titled "Wake It Up." The song is a little different from E-40, in my opinion, but it is a cool track. Akon is a crazy one though and has some serious issues. Check the video's that I posted of him yesterday...Let me know what you think of this track.
Akon is now facing criminal charges for something that happened last year. Akon threw a teenage boy into the audience at one of his shows, after the boy threw a bottle on stage. Check out the video below of what he did last year:
Akon is facing criminal charges in federal court on December 1st with a trial by jury. Supposedly, another girl suffered an injury, after the fan was tossed on her too. Akon needs to chill out on stage! Last year, he simululated sex on stage with a 15 year-old girl at a show in Trinadad...but reports are stating that he did not how old she was..but still...have ya'll seen that???
*Update* I just got this news after I posted Akon's criminal troubles and thought it would be best to include it in this post. Akon straight up back-handed a girl recently at his concert in South Africa because she kept grabbing him. He shoudn't have jumped in the crowd if he didn't expect to get grabbed. How many more incidents are you going to have Akon? Check it out below:
We all know this Rick Ross prison guard controversy has been a hot topic in the music world. MTV.com caught up with Luda and Akon who know the word "controversy" all too well. Luda has recently been in the news with the song that he made regarding the campaign. Akon even had his own controversy involving his past. SmokingGun.com, who was responsible for digging up dirt about Ross, also dug up some dirt on Akon. They claimed Akon was not the "konvict" that he claimed himself to be, but Akon claims that the rumors were falsified and that he does not have to prove himself to anyone. He offered some advice to Ross telling him to "ignore the rumors." Luda basically sentimented what I have been saying all along; Ross was probably a dirty correctional officer. Luda's exact words were, "Some of them correctional officers are some of the most crooked individuals. Whether he did that or not, it's all what you take from it." Luda also stated, "Even if Ross was a prison guard, it didn't mean he has falsified his raps. He could have done dirt as well."
I really think that is why he keeps denying the rumors. As I have stated before, I worked at a prison in the mental health dept. and someone was always getting fired for doing something dirty. A prison is one of the most corrupt workplace environments to work in. You do the math. Ross just doesn't want anyone to find out what he did while working as a prison guard. I can say that I never heard about anyone going to jail for selling drugs in prison though. Usually, the person was just fired and I do not know what happened from that point.
The other day I posted a small video preview of this video. Since then, the full version of this video has premiered. This video is cool and all and looks fun. However, I just don't really like the song though. It seems that a lot of people are feeling it and I think the single is radio friendly no doubt. I just don't like it though. Haha! To me, there is just nothing catchy about it and the beat is just typical. Let me know what you think of the video!
I really don't like this song at all. It will be included on Nelly's album and is on Ashanti's album as well. This track is just average to me. Maybe Nelly thought a collaboration with Ashanti and Akon would help out this song, but they couldn't even save it. The beat isn't even hot! I don't think Nelly wanted to face/off with Jeezy either because he pushed back the release date of Brass Knuckles to September. So now Jeezy will be facing off with The Game. Oooooohh, that should be a good one! I will have to do a poll on that one in a few days. Anyway, the video does look a little fun and I think the fans will love it, however. Check out the preview and let me know what you think!
Akon is gearing up to release his third album called "Acquitted". In a recent interivew with MakingTheMogul.com Akon's brother Bu Thiam, who is the co-Ceo of Konvict Muzik spilled the beans on another Akon and Michael Jackson collab. "Akon does have an album coming out called Acquitted. I think it’s probably gonna be the biggest album of the year. The first single is with Michael Jackson. Brand new, him and Michael Jackson. It’s gonna be stupid."(source)
This will mark the second time the pair has worked together since they collab on "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' 2008" for the "Thriller 25 Anniversary" album.
