Check out the video/movie preview of Lil Scrappy's 1st single from his upcoming album titled, Tha Grustle, which will be releasing in December 09 on DTP/Def Jam. The video was directed by TAJ in Atlanta, Georgia and will be followed by behind-the-scenes footage. The official video will drop after the footage has been released.
Kanye recently dropped his album 808's and Heartbreak this week and it's already on track to sell anywhere from 450,000-500,000 copies in the first week. The official results will be available next week and that is definitely a great debut for Kanye. However, I was hoping he would sell a million. The album is indeed worthy of such recognition and is one of the best albums this year. This is Kanye third No.1 album and this will actually be his third biggest debut of his music career. So if you have not bought the album, then definitely go get it. As far as I am concerned, you won't be disappointed if you have an open mind.
Luda's Theater of Mind was also released this week. He is on track to selling about 175,000-225,000 copies in the first week, which is not bad actually. Quite frankly, Ludadris is selling more than I thought he would. I haven't listened to Luda's album yet, but I heard it's pretty good. I guess I need to check it out and formulate my own opinion. I believe that if Luda would've waited until next week to drop his album, then he would've had better results. I mean, I don't think that was a smart move, but I guess what's done is done right? Still, he is having a fairly respectable first week of sales so both of them has something to smile about.
I always anticipate Tuesdays. I wake up, get fresh, head out the door and have one thing on my mind, "Hmmm, whose album is dropping today?". New Music Tuesday has always been a tradition for as long as I can remember....this tradition has been broken. It is speculated in order to boost sales for the holidays, Kanye, Ludacris, and The Killers are dropping their albums a day sooner on Monday. It seems like we all are getting a little pleasant holiday surprise. I believe when SoundScan numbers come in next Monday, they will post up monsterous numbers. Who's album are you going to get?
Ludacris travels into the life of a boxer in his new video. Peep Floyd Mayweather Jr. in the video and Pretty Boy Bam Bam. He's perpetrating like he is really doing something, but I didn't see him even break a sweat in that video. Haha!!
T-Pain is ready to drop his second single "Chopped and Screwed" ft. Ludacris. His upcoming album will be releasded on November 11th. This song talks about being chopped and screwed and the song itself has been chopped and screwed. The track sounds pretty good. Do you like it?
Ludacris recently lost part of his mansion in Altanta, Georgia yesterday to a blazing fire. According to reports, his pool house was completely detroyed. Thank God no one was injured and that he did not lose his whole house to the fire!
Remember when JoJo passed out on stage weeks ago at a performance? Well, check out Ludacris and 9th Wonder in the studio clowing the duo. It was funny though...K-Ci kept doing his thang on stage, while JoJo was clocked out!! Haha!! I can't believe how cracked out they have become...
Wow..I didn't even know that Monica and Luda were even cousins. Oh well..check them out performing her new single "Still Standing" in Atlanta. I like the song. It's definitely dope. I am glad that Monica is back.
Ludacris claims to know what we women like in his new video, which features Chris Brown and Sean Garrett. Who's looking forward to the upcoming Ludacris album? Recently, he came out and said that he plans to retire from the music game and get into acting or he may even play behind the scenes as a producer. The song sounds good. What do you think?
Ludacris now has the acting bug. According to the Los Angeles Times, the rapper recently stated that he wants to get into acting. In fact, he wants to turn acting into a full-time job. He didn't zero out music altogether, but said that, "I will always be involved in music, but it may be more behind the scenes, as a producer, I will always do that. But when I look at 10 years from now, I don't think rapping is necessarily what I want to do when I'm in my 40s." Lookout for his upcoming album Theater State of Mind set to drop later on this year. The title of his album definitely reflects his new love for acting! Haha! What do you think? Do you think Luda could have a good acting career?
We all know this Rick Ross prison guard controversy has been a hot topic in the music world. MTV.com caught up with Luda and Akon who know the word "controversy" all too well. Luda has recently been in the news with the song that he made regarding the campaign. Akon even had his own controversy involving his past. SmokingGun.com, who was responsible for digging up dirt about Ross, also dug up some dirt on Akon. They claimed Akon was not the "konvict" that he claimed himself to be, but Akon claims that the rumors were falsified and that he does not have to prove himself to anyone. He offered some advice to Ross telling him to "ignore the rumors." Luda basically sentimented what I have been saying all along; Ross was probably a dirty correctional officer. Luda's exact words were, "Some of them correctional officers are some of the most crooked individuals. Whether he did that or not, it's all what you take from it." Luda also stated, "Even if Ross was a prison guard, it didn't mean he has falsified his raps. He could have done dirt as well."
I really think that is why he keeps denying the rumors. As I have stated before, I worked at a prison in the mental health dept. and someone was always getting fired for doing something dirty. A prison is one of the most corrupt workplace environments to work in. You do the math. Ross just doesn't want anyone to find out what he did while working as a prison guard. I can say that I never heard about anyone going to jail for selling drugs in prison though. Usually, the person was just fired and I do not know what happened from that point.
Here's Luda’s first single off of, “Theater of the Mind" featuring Chris Brown and Sean Garrett in 'What Them Girls Like' produced by Rodney 'Darkchild' Jerkins. I like the song but that's just me. Let me know what you the! Hot or Not!
Things are getting political up in this b***h! This Ludacris and Obama ordeal is a hot topic right now. I do not want to rehash everything that went down, but I will summarize things in a nutshell if you have not got wind of the whole situation. Apparently, Luda, who is a strong supporter of the Obama campaign, has made a track, which stated that Obama was destined to be President. What really got people in a twist was when he said, "Hilary is a b****, Bush is mentally handicapped, and McCain doesn't belong in any chair unless he's paralyzed."
Obama has heard the track and feels that Luda's comments were offensive. The presidential candidate even took a stab at hip-hop by stating that "rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn't want his daughters or any children exposed to." My question to the readers is this....did he take it too far? Like I said this is a hot topic and my first reaction was to leave all else alone, but I thought, why not post a poll to see how the readers feel to keep my butt out of the hot seat. Haha!
I will say this however, I am the type of person that always sees the broader perspective in everything. I can look at both sides of a situation. With that said, I can say that I firmly believe in freedom of speech. Isn't that what America is built on? Why does hiphop always have to be the scapegoat on everything? People can say what they want to say. On the flip side of the coin, Obama is in awkward position right now. This is make or break time and really a monumental moment in history. When has their ever been a black presidential candidate? Uh....never! I think it is safe to say he is walking on egg shells right now and has to make the right moves. Like I said, he is making history. Why would he want to do or say the wrong thing? I can keep going about this, but I am going to stop. All I wanted to do is toss a few ideas out there and see what you guys think. Take the poll below and please leave comments if you have anything to say. Don't be scurred! Haha! There is nothing like a good heated debate!
We have been waiting for this "High Price" joint from Ciara in a minute. Well, it is here. Uh....this song is mediocre to me. Ya'll might start getting mad at me about these songs. Haha! It seems that a lot of people like it, but there is just not anything spectacular about this song that makes it memorable. The beat is nice and the track has that usual crunk style type of beat that she likes to sing over. As far as the vocals, her vocal arrangement is different, than what you would expect from Ciara. She has this operatic style on the vocals that I am not really feeling. Believe me, I love it when singers try different things, but it definitely needs to be a hot and catchy track. This is just alright to me. There is nothing about it that screams hotness in my opinion! What do you guys think?
Ludacris, who is an actor, rapper, and now business-owner, makes an appearance at The 39th Annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Presented by Shell - Day 6 at The New Orleans Fair Grounds on May 3, 2008 in New Orleans, Louisiana. Also, he is pictured below with Ahmir ?uestlove Thompson from The Roots.
Check out the new video from Lloyd “How We Do” which premiered on 106&Park today. This song is off Lloyd third solo album entitle ‘Lessons In Love’ due in stores July 15. You can aspect to hear collaborations with Lil Wayne, Ludacris, and Nelly.
Who new that Luda had love for Asian food? He loves it so much that he has opened an Asian Restuarant in Atlanta, GA. Above, Ludacris is pictured with Chef Chris Yeo at his new restaurant Straights Atlanta, which serves Singaporean cuisine. I wonder if he will be cooking there from time to time? I have to congratulate him on turning that money that he has earned into more money and doing something unexpected. I mean, who would have guessed that he would open up an Asian Restaurant?
In a statement, the rapper revealed, "During my travels, I've experienced some of the most diverse international culinary flavors in the world. After experiencing Yeo's modern spin on Singaporean cuisine combined with the sexy dining experience, I wanted to bring this restaurant home to Atlanta." However, don't think that this be the last restuarant opening for Ludacris. In fact, he plans to open at least two more restuarants with Yeo in Atlanta.
