Jay-Z Interview with Bill Maher

The man himself, Jay-Z, recently sat down with Bill Maher for an interview as we anticipate the release of his upcoming album "Blueprint 3." Check out the interview and let us know what you think!

"Blueprint 3" Cover Art

Blueprint 3 is probably one of the most anticipated albums this year. Recently, the cover art to Jay Z's upcoming album Blueprint 3 was revealed. The album is scheduled for release on September 11th, which is a date that we all know far too well. So far, the album is marked with collaborations from Kid Cudi, Rihanna, Kanye West, Mr. Hudson, Nas, and Drake. On the production side of the spectrum, Timbaland, No I.D, MGMT, and Kanye West, add their musical touches to the album. In fact, Kanye appears to have the most production credits on this album, which was confirmed by Jay-Z earlier this year. The album's track listing has been provided below. Please be aware that this track-listing is subject to change as the release date approaches.

Confirmed Track-Listing:
1. "What We Talking About" Kanye West
2. "D.O.A. (Death of Auto-Tune)" No I.D.
3. "Weigh Me Down" (feat. Kid Cudi) Kanye West
4. "Unforgiven" Kanye West, MGMT
5. "Run This Town" (feat. Rihanna & Kanye West) Kanye West
6. "Empire State of Mind" (feat. Nas) No I.D.
7. "When It Comes to This" Timbaland
8. "Always" (feat. Drake) Kanye West
9. "Scenes from the Past" Kanye West, No I.D.
10. "Everyday a Star Is Born" (feat. Mr. Hudson) Kanye West
11. "Already Home" Kanye West
12. "Forever Young" (feat. Mr. Hudson) Kanye West
13. "Thank You" Kanye West

Jay-Z Talks About Blueprint 3

Jay-Z recently spoke to Funk Master Flex and Mister Cee about his upcoming album Blueprint 3.

Jay-Z and Ciara Prepare for Tour

Ciara recently confirmed via her twitter page that she will go on tour with Jay-Z. Details of the tour have not been released at this time. However, more information will be coming soon. Jay-Z and Ciara will visit at least 10 cities this year so it will be nice to see which cities they will appear in. More information coming soon!

Danger Mouse: Producer Spotlight

Danger Mouse is one of my favorite producers and we all know that he's apart of the group Gnarls Barkley with soulful singer Cee-Lo. Before Gnarls Barkley though, Danger Mouse remixed Jay-Z's entire The Black Album and penned his version The Grey Album. Danger Mouse basically took the accapellas from Jay-Z's album and combined them with instrumentals from The Beatles. That project got him a lot of positive feedback and attention. He also worked with rapper MF DOOM to form DANGERDOOM. If you are a fan of The Gorillaz, which I am, he produced their entire second album titled, Demon Dayz. One of the hottest tracks on that album was "Feel Good Inc," in which he produced. Presently, his work has mostly been with Gnarls Barkley. Anyway, I found this interview from the producer that was recorded back in 2006 I believe. In the interview, he talks about how he linked up with Cee-Lo to form Gnarls Barkley. Also, he talks about his views on music in general. It's a cool interview from a taltented producer...check it out...

Grammy Performance of "Swagga Like Us"

One of the highlights of the Grammy's was Jay-Z, T.I, Kanye West, pregnant M.I.A, and Lil Wayne performing "Swagga Like Us." I guess M.I.A decided to get on stage and roc the mic with some of Hip-Hop's greatest superstars. It was good to see all of them on stage together.

Will Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 See a Release in February?

Well, a lot of Jay-Z fans were eagerly awaiting Blueprint 3 in 2008, only to hear that it will not be released until 2009. As of yet, the album is supposed to be released next month. However, there is not a set date at this time, which makes me skeptical that we will hear it in February. Kanye is supposed to be producing most of the album. Last year, Timbaland stated that he was going to produce a majority of the album. However, those rumors were squashed when Kanye stated that he would, in fact, be producing the album at the Glow in the Dark Tour. Kanye even flew to Germany where he gave Jay-Z about 15 tracks. After that, most of the album was finished in Hawaii. So far there are a few tracks confirmed for the album. The track-listing includes these following songs at the moment:

Jockin' JAY-Z" Kanye West
"Haters"[15] Kanye West
"Swagga Like Us" Kanye West, Lil Wayne, & T.I.
"Swagga Like Us Pt. 2" André 3000, Young Jeezy & Nas
"History" Tony Williams
"Brooklyn Go Hard" Santogold

I am wondering if we will hear some Timbaland tracks on the album, even though Kanye is producing most of it. Also, I wonder if Kanye's tracks will reflect his new sound that we heard on 808's and Heartbreak or will we see the old Kanye. So far, the tracks that I've heard from Kanye reflects his old sound, but there are still many tracks that we still haven't heard.

*Breaking News* Blueprint 3 Comes Out Next Year?

I am really tired of getting pulled into different directions about these albums, but I've been skeptical about the release of this album for a while now so it shouldn't come as a surprise. Haha!! In a recent interview, Kanye West stated that we would not be seeing Jay-Z's album until February. He also contends that the album is almost finished. I was expecting for this to happen though. Release dates always seem to change nowadays.

Kanye Confirms Blueprint 3's Release This Year

I've been a bit skeptical about Blueprint 3 being released this year. However, Kanye has recently confirmed to MTV that the album will be released this year. According to Kanye, the album was finished, but Jay-Z wanted to go back into the booth and record some more songs. His exact words were:

"I mean, it's phenomenal. We went in and we done the whole album. He wanted to do a few more joints, so he kinda pushed it back. Now we're gonna go in and just work on some more records. So I got some more stuff to kill it with! I think [Jay pushed the album back because] 'Swagger' just did so incredible. We wanted to go up [and make sure] everything was on that level."
Well, it's already November and December is quickly approaching. Do you think they can get these other tracks finished in time? No matter what time the album comes out, I'm sure that it will be worth the wait.

New Jay-Z Track "History"

A new track recently surfaced from Jay Hov titled, "History." This track was produced by Kanye West and comes around the time of Barack Obama's historic presidential win. Reportedly, this track will be on Blueprint 3. You can listen to the track below:

"History" by Jay-Z

Jay-Z Last Chance for Change Video

Well, we all know that election day is almost here so things are very political right now. In the video, Jay-Z speaks to a crowd of listeners about the election. It is good to see that musicians and artists are getting involved. Remember to vote tomorrow if you haven't already!

Do You Think Blueprint 3 Will Really Drop This Year?

It's no surprise that a lot of people are anticipating Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 this year. Jay-Z is on record saying that the album will be released by the end of the year. Do you really think that we will hear the album at the end of the year though or it it safe to say the album may not come out until early next year? Jay Z said that he and Kanye West have laid down a lot of tracks for the album. There were rumors that other producers may be on the project, which includes Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes. In a recent interview with MTV News, the multi-talented producer said, "Of course,” when asked whether Jay had called him to work on Blueprint 3. He then took a long pause before refusing to divulge any more info. “He don’t like for you to say so much.” Williams is working with a lot of artists he can talk about right now. We were in the studio with him recently in Atlanta and had a sneak preview of some beats he did for Diddy and the Clipse. One Puff track that really stuck out has the potential to be huge if Diddy does it right. “Puff’s album is crazy,” Williams promised. “Y’all should know that. It’s pretty serious. It’s innovative. “[Lil] Wayne and I had an interesting conversation,” he added about his slate of production work. “We just did Fall Out Boy. We did Cassie, Jadakiss, going in with Fab[olous]. … I can’t think. It’s a bunch of stuff.”

It looks like Pharrell is not saying much about working with Jay-Z. For all of you Jigga fans, we know that Pharrell is one of Jay-Z's go-to guys as far as production is concerned. I guess the jury is out on whether we will really see the album in December. My prediction is that there may be a push back or two. Who knows? I know I would rather hear the album sooner than later.

Beyonce in Essence Magazine...Finally Opens Up About J Hov..

Since the first day that Beyonce and Jay-Z started dating, they have been hush hush about their relationship. In the current issue of Essence Magazine, she finally spills the beans. In regards to her wedding ring she stated, "People put too much emphasis on that. It's just material, and it's just silly to me." As for her man is concerned, she stated, "What Jay and I have is real. It's not about interviews or getting the right photo op. It's real. We've been together a long time. We always knew [marriage] would happen."

I am glad that these two have a solid marriage. I wish them the best of luck!! And I do not blame Beyonce for trying to keep her marriage private...

Jay-Z Decides on Release Date...

We all have heard that The Blueprint 3 is going to drop at the end of the year. Well, it has now been confirmed by BET.com that Jay-Z will drop the album on December 2. This will be his last album under his Def Jam contract. Do you think that Jay-Z will quit rapping or do you think he will work out a new deal?

Also, in other Jay Hov news, the rapper is working on his own version of "Swagger Like Us." The original version featured Kanye West, Lil Wayne, and T.I. Jay-Z's version is going to feature Young Jeezy, Nas, and Andre 3000. Now I can already tell you that Jay-Z's version is going to be dope! I am glad he added he added these guys to the song. I was actually wondering where Jeezy was on Kanye's version.

50 Cent Says Beyonce Made Jay-Z???!!

Huh? I guess 50 Cent has been smoking a lot of "refa" nowadays. How is he going to say that Beyonce made Jay-Z? Jay-Z was huge before he got married to Beyonce. True he has added some more bank to his resume' since he married her, but still.....He is really a hater forreal...Read his exact statements below:

"I’m a big fan of Jay-Z, but outside of the States and hip-hop circles, no one really knew who he was until he married Beyonce’. He adds, “I don’t believe he’s worth that much! It’s all been exaggerated. I’m comfortable. I don’t want for anything so I’m not in a race.”.
What do you guys think? Let me know your comments on this one....I cannot stress enough how desperate 50 Cent is acting. He know he career is sinking...

Jay-Z Teams With Stargate...

Jay-Z has a new record label in mind. The music mogul rap superstar has now teamed with the Norwegian production crew Stargate to form a new record label called StarRoc. If you are not familiar with the production duo Stargate, then they frequently work with Ne-Yo. They have also worked with Beyonce and Rihanna. Jay-Z is always buzzing with ideas. What is he going to do next??!!

Listeners Will Get a Double Dose of The Roc This Year

According to MTV, not only Jay-Z is coming out with an album this year, but also Kanye West. Kanye West will debut his first single from that album titled "Love Lockdown" next week. The album will be released in December. Reportedly, Jay-Z's first single will be "Swagger Like Us," which features Kanye West, T.I., and Weezy. I think the track is dope and I heard Jeezy may be on the remix. The song will be available for download on September 6th. Anyway, I am surprised Kanye is releasing an album so soon, but hey...it is always a pleasure to hear a new Kanye project, so I am excited about it. I can't wait to hear both albums as a matter of fact!

New Joint-"Swagger Like Us" by T.I. Featuring Jay-Z, Kanye West, and Lil' Wayne

"Swagger Like Us" is a new joint by T.I. Featuring the Hip-Hop "Dream Team." Reportedly, this track will be on T.I.'s upcoming album Paper Trail. The song is also going to be included on Jay-Z's Blueprint 3. It's a hot track and I like it. The song contains samples of M.I.A. song "PaperPlanes," which is a dope track too. T.I. recently made some comments to MTV News about this track leaking and he is not pleased.

“Don’t ruin the event. Wait till the cake comes out the kitchen before you eat it. That’s like a kid who sees his toys before Christmas; it takes away from me and I think it takes away from the fans as well. When it’s time, I’mma give it to you. They leaked my record with me and The-Dream [”Like I Do”] too. Leakage is never a problem I have had. I’m not used to it.”
Well, here is track, which is included in Kanye Wests' blog. Kanye made a comment in his blog about Jeezy not being on the song. Yeah, where is he? He stated that Jeezy may have to be on the remix. Anyway, listen to the song below:

I Smell Beef!

The Game is trying to stir up some trouble with Jay Z. A while ago, The Game made some comments about the Roc-A-Fella crew and J Hov responded by saying that The Game "can commit suicide." According to HipHopdx.com, The Game talked on a radio station the other day and made some comments about Jay-Z. He stated:

"I'm too disrespectful for Jay-Z, I go to hard. His beef is mediocre beef, it's more swag and less hardcore. Me, I go in on your grandma, your kids and your girl….it will get ugly and I don't mind. I have a whole coast to back me. My coast will turn their backs on whoever I turn my back on. So basically, let me commit suicide because I'm the only cat to commit suicide and resurrect every time. So for Jay to say that about me, that's cool man because he's Jay-Z and I'm just lil ol' Game. But if you fuck with me I'll turn to a beast, and ill rip ya head off..bust ya lips."
"I can be a fan of Jay and still rip him limb from limb lyrically and still be a fan. After I finish him off, I'm still going to listen to Reasonable Doubt afterwards. I'll kiss Jay goodbye with his own lips. I'm going to make him mad enough to where he has to say something. Jay imma make you so mad you gonna have to diss me...[laughs] I need him to do it, I got an album coming out; help me."
The Game made some major remarks. Why is he trying to stir up some trouble with the Jigga Man right now? I think it is all a strategic move to boost his album sales. I mean, his album is about to drop on August 26th. What is the date today??? Uh......Friday, August 15th. The Game's album will drop in no time. What I wanna know is if Jay-Z is going to continue to let The Game commit "suicide" or just respond. I will be looking out for that J Hov response when he does! What do you think about The Game's comments? Do you think The Game could take Hov lyrically?
