Can The Source Magazine and Nelly Make a Comeback?
As many of you may know, The Source Magazine has been dead for years. And I have to be blame no one, other than the man himself, Benzino! Now that Benzino has been overthrown, can The Source Magazine reclaim the crown that it once held? I am a bit skeptical on this. True, The Source used to be a shrine for hip-hop, but it's credibility has dwindled throughout the years. They have a new editor-and-chief now, so there is hope. However, you have to think about how powerful the internet is now. Blogsites are really huge and many people prefer the online magazine experience versus the traditional, in-store magazine. Indeed, there are a lot of magazines out there generating a huge amount of income right now, but with the increasing power of the internet, I am confident that profit sales will decrease. That may already be happening right now. Whether The Source Magazine will make a comeback or not remains to be seen.
The Sources' first comeback issue will feature Nelly on the cover for the month of August. On the cover, Nelly looks like a hitman. Nelly has been absent from the music scene for about four years. He is ready to release his new album Brass Knuckles on August 19, 2008. I think Nelly's album will sell well. However, I do not think he will have record-breaking sales. What do you think? Will Brass Knuckles be one of the biggest selling albums of the year?
