Columbia Records Drops Amerie From Roster...
R&B singer Amerie is no longer apart of Columbia Records. Sources claim that her name has been removed from the labels roster. Reportedly, the R&B singer is disgruntled with the label about her third album Because I Love It, which was never released in the United States, despite critical acclaim and having huge success overseas. In fact, the album peaked at #17 on the U.K. chart.
Currently, Amerie is recording another album and is negotiating a deal with LA Reid's Def Jam. Sources believe that she will sign with Island Def Jam, however this has not been confirmed. Reportedly, she will be working with The Neptunes. If so, then this will be a great collaboration.
If you have not purchased Because I Love It, then you are in for a treat. It is currently available as an import on Amazon.com. You will have to pay more money than usual to listen to the album, but you will not be disappointed. Google the album and you may even find it on other websites for a cheaper price. It is really unfortunate that a lot of people missed out on this release.
