This Week on the Album Charts-The Pussycat Dolls, Jazmine Sullivan, and Joe...
Last week The Pussycat Dolls, Jazmine Sullivan, and Joe came out with albums. This week, The Pussycat Dolls made a debut on the Billboard 200 at #4 and sold about 79,000 copies. Jazmine Sullivan was #6 on the charts with her album Fearless, which is a great album by the way. She also topped the R/B charts at #1. R&B crooner Joe held the #8 spot and sold about 54,000 copies with his album New Man. The album also got the #1 spot on the Independent album charts. It seems that none of these albums had really strong debuts, but they were decent. If you didn't understand why I said these albums didn't really have strong debuts, then check this out. Next week, T.I. is expected to have a first week sales of 500,000 copies sold. Jennifer Hudson is expected to at least sell anywhere from 250,000 to 300,000 copies. Lastly, Robin Thicke is expected to sell about 150,000 copies. I am actually really surprised that The Pussycat Dolls didn't sell more records during the first week. I thought for sure they would sell over 100,000 copies. Nelly even sold more records than them!! Anyway, I strongly advise everyone to go out and buy that Jazmine Sullivan album. I love it!!! I can listen to every song. Her producers seemed to go the Amy Winehouse route as far as a lot of the beats are concerned. Good album!!!
Stay tuned to see what happens next week....
