Wrong! Think again because what you remotely and previously thought is only falsified. Prepare yourself not for Tha Carter IV, but for Tha Carter III: The Rebirth. Lil Wayne recently sat down with MTV News to talk about his upcoming album. We all assumed that the next album would be Tha Carter IV, but Wayne cleverly has a plan in store for his listeners. In an interview with MTV, he stated:"I think we're gonna release Tha Carter III — a new Carter III with none of the same songs. None of them. Not one! We don't wanna call the [next album] we got coming out Tha Carter IV. That was the dilemma we were in. We want Carter IV to be what everybody wants it to be. This is something brand-new, so we don't want it to be some experimental thing, 'cause some people are not gonna like this. I don't want them to not like Tha Carter IV. But I do have an album coming soon, very soon, and it's gonna be called ... Tha Carter III: The Rebirth. The birth of a new beginning."
To all of you readers out there, is this really a clever move on Lil Wayne's part? In my honest opinion, I can definitely say that it's a different idea and peaks my interest and I am sure it does the same for others as well. I guess it will be safe to assume that this album will be a little different from the first Carter III? We know for one that the album will include entirely new tracks. Here is an interesting bit of news for those of you who are wondering who will have production credits on the album. Reportedly, Lil Wayne is talking to The Neptunes to produce on the album. After the BET Hip Hop Awards, the two of them got together on a tour bus to discuss working together. Pharrell described their discussion as “very interesting.” Furthermore, Wayne said he’s been locked in with some up-and-coming producers, as well as an acclaimed production duo from Miami. So that definitely sounds to me that The Neptunes may be on Tha Carter III: The Rebirth as well as Cool and Dre since he named a talented production duo in Miami. It will definitely be exciting to see what news unfolds on this project. Stay tuned!
And congrats to Lil Wayne for the recent birth of his son...

According to Ginuwine on Myspace, Timbaland is going to be doing some production on his next album, which brings music to my ears. It has been a while since Timbaland and Ginuwine have worked together. In fact, it's been a long time. From what I've heard, there have been scheduling conflicts with the two, but I do not know if that is true or not. Either way it goes, I'm glad that they found time to create more music together. His exact words were:"Hey guys!!! My album is coming along very well!!! I just recently finished working with jonta austin, brian michael cox, and adonis!!! Im heading to Miami on the 10th to work with Timbaland!!!! Thats right Timbaland!!!! Stay tuned for more updates!! Feel free to leave questions or comments! The album will be released in the first quarter of 2009 along with a new single beforehand. No title yet for the project but it will be released on Nofti Records with distribution though Warner Brothers. Longtime friend and collaborator Tank will be executive producing the album. Everything is still in the works. I don't want to rush anything. I'm just working on various songs and definitely hoping to work with others like Polow da Don and Timbaland. However, at this point I can say the music will reflect a maturing Ginuwine. I'm not the same young man I was when I first got into music. "
I am very excited about this news, but the question remains. Will Timbaland give him some heat or will Ginuwine just get some leftovers? I hope this collaboration brings forth some magnetic, fruitful heat. Timbaland's style has changed since they last worked on Ginuwine's second album 100% Ginuwine. Thanks to our friends at the Thomas Crown Chronicles for the tip.

Check out this T.I interview on Tyra. He is selling a massive amount of records right now. Do you think that he will do better than Lil Wayne? I do not think he will sell more than Lil Wayne once things are all said and done, but he will still continue to do a good job. Stay posted as I will talk about some other records that will come out this year and see how they are going to compare to Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III

It's no surprise that a lot of people are anticipating Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 this year. Jay-Z is on record saying that the album will be released by the end of the year. Do you really think that we will hear the album at the end of the year though or it it safe to say the album may not come out until early next year? Jay Z said that he and Kanye West have laid down a lot of tracks for the album. There were rumors that other producers may be on the project, which includes Pharrell Williams of the Neptunes. In a recent interview with MTV News, the multi-talented producer said, "Of course,” when asked whether Jay had called him to work on Blueprint 3. He then took a long pause before refusing to divulge any more info. “He don’t like for you to say so much.” Williams is working with a lot of artists he can talk about right now. We were in the studio with him recently in Atlanta and had a sneak preview of some beats he did for Diddy and the Clipse. One Puff track that really stuck out has the potential to be huge if Diddy does it right. “Puff’s album is crazy,” Williams promised. “Y’all should know that. It’s pretty serious. It’s innovative. “[Lil] Wayne and I had an interesting conversation,” he added about his slate of production work. “We just did Fall Out Boy. We did Cassie, Jadakiss, going in with Fab[olous]. … I can’t think. It’s a bunch of stuff.”
It looks like Pharrell is not saying much about working with Jay-Z. For all of you Jigga fans, we know that Pharrell is one of Jay-Z's go-to guys as far as production is concerned. I guess the jury is out on whether we will really see the album in December. My prediction is that there may be a push back or two. Who knows? I know I would rather hear the album sooner than later.

Okay so here is a video of Bishop Lamont talking about the long-awaited Detox album. I guess Bishop Lamont is the "Detox" spokesperson or something because he is talking about it everywhere, but we never hear from Dre. I am sure Dre is aware he is talking about the album so maybe it's okay. Anyway, in this video Bishop Lamont, who is signed to Dre's Aftermath Record Label, says that Detox will be released in December and we will hear the first single from the album in November. The question is, do you believe this? We've heard this for years now. Is this finally the year for the album to drop. I can't deny that I am still skeptical, since Dre is such a "perfectionist" and trying to get everybody and their mama on the album. I will say that since Bishop is talking about it so much, then maybe their is some hope. This video was recorded about maybe almost a month or two ago. In the video, you will also hear a sample of what Dre has been up to as well. Dre produced the new Bishop Lamont single, "Grow Up." Is it me or is Bishop reminding you a little of 50 Cent? Oh, and for you producers and musicians out there, Dr. Dre's Noise Cancelling Headphones are supposedly pretty good. Reportedly, he worked on the headphones with Chairman of Interscope Geffen A&M Records Jimmy Iovine for about 3 years. No wonder why we haven't heard Detox yet....Has anyone tried them out yet?

Common's upcoming album Universal Mind Control is generating a lot of buzz it seems with the news that The Neptunes were going to produce a majority of the album. Many are comparing UMC to his album Electric Circus, which was Common's most experimental album to date. In working with The Neptunes, Common's aim is to please party-goers so the album will definitely will make you dance. Prior to the release of Universal Mind Control, many of us heard that Common was going to release an album The Believer. Then, we heard that the title of his upcoming album was titled Invicible Summer, which eventually turned out to be Universal Mind Control. Well, according to Common, The Believer will still be released. In fact, it will be the title of his next album and he is already developing plans for the release. In a recent interview with MTV, he stated: "The Believer is definitely gonna be an album." "It's gonna be the next album. I was ready to make The Believer, then I started working on an EP called Invincible Summer [click to read]. Then I was like, 'OK, Universal Mind Control — that's the name of the single.' Like we said on the song, 'If you wanna dance, let's dance.' That's what that whole concept is like: Whatever you want the people to do, you create the music for them to do it."
I did a little research and actually found a tracklisting for The Believer album. Remember this was supposed to be released before UMC, but Common was inspired to go into a different direction. He made a comment to MTV news basically stating that the current state of the government influenced UMC. He needed to release and just break loose. Anyway, here is the tracklisting:
"Lost Alley (Coltrane's Reprise)"
"The Believer (Feat. The Philadelphia Experiment and Joshua Redman)"
"To Find Mecca is Within... (Feat. C.L. Smooth and Q-Tip)"
"Moonlight (Feat. Christina Aguilera)"
"The Cause"
"Nirvana is in the Blunt"
"Chicago School (Feat. Kanye West, Twista, Do or Die and R. Kelly)"
"Sinewave"
"@1AM (Feat. Roy Hargrove, Nas, Guru, and Greg Osby)"
"Green Room (Freestyle)"
"Empty Threats (Feat. Kool G Rap, Rahzel, Joe Budden and Talib Kweli)"
"Skyline (Feat. Estelle)"
"Stay Good"
"Ghetto Purgatory"
"Diagnosis (Skit)"
"Requiem for a Love"
Just by looking at the tracklisting, I can see that this album would've definitely been one of those classic hip-hop albums that Common is known for. There seems to be a lot of features on the album, primarily from classic hip-hop artists. And it looks like there is a touch of jazz on this album, which is cool. I am looking forward to UMC, but I am already excited about The Believer. I am pretty sure that once it is released, this tracklisting will be a lot different. I am sure there will be a lot of changes.

Lately I've been hearing a lot of people getting mad at records that glorify getting paid because of the state of the economy. All I can say about that is ok, whatever, there have always been songs about getting paid so just don't listen to them if you don't like them. Clearly, the recession so far hasn't had much effect on music. TI just sold 500,000 copies in 1 week which was more than his last album pre recession. Jeezy did 250 his first week. Lil Wayne is almost at 3 million. 2008 has been a huge come back year for hip-hop artists. So my question would be to you: do you think the recession over time will have an effect on the quality of music on mainstream radio? I would hope it would help considering if you're riding around stressed about paying a mortgage and jobless the last thing you should want to hear is crank that spiderman.. But then again, music has a very young consumer base so I guess it will be up to the kids.

Kanye West has always been creative and unique, but he claims that he is taking this to a different level on his upcoming album 808's and Heartbreak, which will be released on November 25th. He recently his experimentation in a recent radio interview. He stated: "People heard "Heartless" and thought it was safe. They were like, 'Kanye's over here. It's all good now.' As you see, nobody's safe. I'm coming for the spot. It's a lot of people with number one spots right now, and I'm coming back for my spot. I'm not really playing right now. I think people might have thought I was playing games or just doing something real Avant-garde. But I'm coming to make the best music I can possibly make."
I can always respect an artist that is trying to be different and experiment. Everything is so saturated right now in the music industry and a lot of stuff sounds the same. I think a lot of people will embrace Kanye's newest project. In my honest opinion, I don't really think that Kanye has ever stuck to industry standards anyway. If you haven't seen the radio interview, feel free to check it out below:

M.I.A is a terrific Hip-Hop artist coming out of the U.K. She first came on the scene with her single, "Galang," which was pretty much an international success. From that point on, she has spawned two albums, Arular and Kala. M.I.A music evokes a lot of her experiences growing up in Sri Lanka and eventually moving to the U.K. In addition, her music has a deep political basis as well. Many of you have probably heard her international hit "Paper Planes" from her album Kala, which was released in 2007. The track is dope and has a hot beat. Kala is a really good album and "Paper Planes" gained a lot of attention from fellow musicians to polical organizations. First the video and song for "Paper Planes" was attacked because of the gunshots featured in the song and the use of the word "murder" and bombs. She has also been labeled a terrorist because some have eluded that she was talking about the Liberation Tiger Tamils of Eelam (LTTE), a Sri Lankan terrorist group that has been feared by the United States govenrment and other countries as well. M.I.A describes the accusations as "hurtful" and denies any of the reports. Either way it goes, she is getting widespread notariety and her single "Paper Planes" has recently been featured in the film Pineapple Express. She is currently taking a break from music at the moment as a means, in my opinion, to prepare for motherhood, but reports have reported that she is working on a third album. Check out this in-depth interview, which was conducted only a few days ago. It's really good.

This is the official album cover for Beyonce's upcoming, double-disc album I Am. The first disc will be titled, I Am and will showcase the emotional-side of the star. Therefore, expect to hear ballads, and more ballads. I am loving her new song, "If I Were A Boy," better than her other single, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)." The second disc titled, Sasha Fierce, will introduce us to her alter ego. Sasha Fierce will make you want to get on the dance-floor and feature up-tempo tracks. Check out the tracklisting below:
I Am... Beyoncé
"If I Were a Boy" (BC Jean, Toby Gad)
"Halo" (Knowles, Tedder)
"Disappear" (Knowles, Ghost, Dave McCracken, Dench)
"Broken-Hearted Girl" (Knowles, Eriksen, Hermansen)
"Ave Maria" (Knowles, Eriksen, Hermansen)
"Smash Into You" (Knowles, Stewart, Nash)
"Satellites" (Knowles, Ghost, McCracken, Dench)
"That's Why You're Beautiful" (Knowles, Andrew Hey)
I Am... Sasha Fierce
"Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)" (Knowles, Stewart, Nash)
"Radio" (Knowles, Jonsin, Love, D-Town)
"Diva" (Knowles, Crawford, Garrett)
"Sweet Dreams" (Knowles, Jonsin, Love, Wilkins)
"Video Phone" (Knowles, Crawford, Garrett)
"Hello" (Knowles, REO)
"Ego" (Knowles, Elvis Williams, Harold Lilly)
"Scared of Lonely" (Cristyle Johnson, Jerkins)
"Why Don't You Love Me?" (Knowles, Knowles, Caine)
From what I have researched, the title to the second disc is not set in stone. Apparently, there is a contest going on for listeners to guess who this Sasha Fierce person is. Most people are guessing that it is Beyonce. It seems pretty much obvious right? I do not really understand what this contest is about, but you can actually participate here and it is sponsored through myspace too.
The CD will include a lot of perks for those who opt to purchase the Deluxe Edition, such as a DVD and extra songs. Her father Matthew Knowles recently unveiled that each disc will be sold seperately for those trying to pinch some pennies. In Scratch Magazine, Timbaland stated that he would be producing most of the tracks on the disc, so I am curious about that statement. The tracklisting that is floating around presently does not include Timbaland's name on any of the tracks. It is hard for me to believe that no Timbaland tracks will be on the album, but this is what I have so far regarding producers. Beyonce did state, earlier this year, that she has recorded over 70 songs so there could've been a lot of changes from that period. Also, there seems to be an absence of features on the album. Kanye and Justin Timberlake were supposed to be on the album, but it looks like they are absent as well. Stayondeck.com will definitely keep you updated on any changes that develop with the album.

If you haven't picked up already, we have changed our focus from an up to date pop blog to an in depth music analysis and behind the scenes info of our favorite artists. We no longer will be following cookie cutter music. Stayondeck will no longer bring you news on artists because of what they wear or who they are signed to. From now on we will only talk about the artists for their music. Why? because I am a grown ass man and I have a brain. There is still a lot of great music in the world and that's what we are here to focus on. We'll be following upcoming releases from Jay Z, Common, Kanye, Andre 3000, Dr Dre, etc. We will also not just be focusing on urban music.. Common's new album Universal Mind Control will be released on December 9th. The album has undergone a few release date changes and it seems that the December date will be the last straw. Common seems to be embarking on a new, creative chapter in his music career, as witnessed with his current single, "Universal Mind Control." The track was produced by The Neptunes and has a techno, dance sound to it. This is not Common's first time experimenting, however, or working with The Neptunes. Remember 2002's Electric Circus album? That was probably Common's most experimental work to date. Back then, he was dating Erykah Badu, which some say influenced his sound on the album. The album sold under 300,000 copies, but it actually received a lot of positive views. On the album, he worked with longtime producer and friend, J Dilla (R.I.P), James Poyser, ?uestlove, and The Neptunes. I am glad to see that he is working with The Neptunes again on the Universal Mind Control album. They actually produced a major chunk of the album! Kanye West also put his magic touch on the album on about two songs, but needless to say, this album screams Neptunes production. Take a look at the tracklisting below:
1. "Announcement" - Featuring Pharrell
Produced by The Neptunes
2. "Universal Mind Control (UMC) - Featuring Pharrell
Produced by The Neptunes
3. "Runaway"-Featuring Santogold
4. "Make My Day"- Featuring Cee-Lo
Produced By Mr. DJ
5. "Punch Drunk Love"- Featuring Kanye West
Produced by Kanye West
6. "Gladiator" - Featuring Pharrell
Produced by The Neptunes
7. "What A World"- Featuring Chester French
Produced by The Neptunes
8. "The Eye"-Featuring Pharrell Williams
9. "Changes"
Produced By Mr. DJ
10. "Party Shit"
11. "Dreaming"
Produced by Alex Kresovich
Indeed, just judging from his current singles, "Announcement" and "Universal Mind Control," Common's sound is far different than the "Common Sense" of the past. Working primarily with the collective known as The Soulquarians, which consist of ?uestlove, Dilla (R.I.P), Q-Tip, Bilal, D-Angelo, James Poyser, Mos Def, etc., he is now toying with different elements now. Do you think this new album will have the outcome that Electric Circus did? Do you think that it will venture too far away from the foundation of Hip-Hop? I believe that the album will be just as good as Electric Circus, but I am undecided on how well it will sell. I definitely think that it will do better than Electric Circus, just judging from the everyone's comments about his single, "Universal Mind Control" even though most people aren't really feeling "Announcement." Honestly, I do not think it will sell that well, but, hey, I could be wrong.
Common's last two albums Be and Finding Forever featured mostly production from Kanye. On this new album, of course Kanye has much of a lesser role. Check out this in-depth interview with Common, which may make it clear to you why he worked with The Neptunes this time around. Common describes the inspiration for this album and talks about what things were like in the studio with The Neptunes. He states that he and Pharrell drew ideas from each other. Check it out though. It's a really good interview and I hope you enjoy it! The video was recorded a little before we found out the new release date for his album. Therefore, when he talks about the album being released in November, the album will actually be released in December now. Before I conclude, I have to say that I do miss Dilla and Common working together. I believe that if he was alive, Common probably would've had his production on this album too. They were actually really close friends and J Dilla loved to be different too and explore with his music production. Like Water For Chocolate is definitely my favorite Common album. R.I.P Dilla aka Jay Dee!!

Heartless.. I love the song but the music behind it is sub par which is really surprising for Yeezy.. But, I am starting to pick up on the 808 production with heartbreak lyrics hence the title "808's and heartbreaks.."It makes sense hah.. Coldest Winter is jamming!! JAMMING.. love it.. I am definitely liking what I hear so far from this album.

I recently spoke to a Def Jam rep that sat in on a listening session of Kanye's new album 808's and Heartbreaks. He told me that the whole album was filled with auto tune singing and that Kanye continued to describe the album as a mix between Andre 3000's "The Love Below" (a legendary classic of epic proportions) and Common "Electric Circus" (a disappointing album that I thought was wack). I am not sure I understand the connection Ye is trying to make but I am assuming this means his album is Prince inspired which always seems to be a good thing in music. Kanyeezy also stated that 808's and Heartbreaks was something he was inspired to do and that he still plans on releasing a more hip-hop influenced album summer 2009. NO ID is working on this album too with Ye. Are you all ready for some holiday auto tune? Expect this album early December. Above pic = Kanye with No ID

Andre 3000 is just one half of the duo that we know as Outkast. In my opinion, he is probably one of the most innovative and creative individuals in Hip-Hop. He is much respected for his lyricism and musical talent. I am sure that many of you are eagerly awaiting his upcoming solo album. There is not much word on the project, but Andre has promised he is in the studio working on the follow-up to The Love Below. In an interview with Rolling Stone, he mentioned:“It should be dropping by the end of this year or early next year. I’ve pretty much been working with myself. I’ve never really been that big on collaboration. I already have a goal and a direction for the album. I have a concept, and all the soundscapes are already in my head, so I just have to figure out how to get there.”
We can expect the album to drop later on this year or early next year. His partner Big Boi is a little bit further on in the album process. He currently has a single titled, "Royal Flush" ft. Andre and Raekwon. His album Sir Luscious Left Foot...Son of Chico Dusty will be released on October 28th. Unlike the duo's last album effort, their solo albums will be released separately. Don't expect an album from Outkast soon, however. In an earlier interview, Andre stated, "After we do those solo albums, we’re planning on doing another OutKast album. I don’t know how long that’s gonna be; it could be two years."
As for now, it looks like there won't be many collaborations on Dre's upcoming project since he stated that he usually likes to work by himself. He has been featured on a lot of tracks lately ranging from, Rich Boy's "Throw Some D's" (also featuring the Game, Nelly, Murphy Lee and Jim Jones); the latest Devin the Dude single, "What a Job" (also featuring Snoop Dogg); Lloyd's "You" remix (also featuring Nas); and the Outkast cameo on UGK's single. It actually started in October, when he appeared on the remix to DJ Unk's hit single, "Walk It Out" (also featuring Big Boi and Jim Jones). You can also catch him on Big Boi's new single, which I mentioned earlier and John Legend's new single "Green Light." Andre made this statement regarding the song, "It's going to be a surprise for a lot of John Legend fans, because it is a lot more upbeat than John is — than people think John is," Andre insisted. "I was actually happy to hear it. This is a cool John Legend song." I agree that the song is really upbeat and something not typical from John Legend. It's a hot song though! We will keep you informed on any developments on Andre's album, but for right now, there isn't much to tell. He seems to be focused on acting right now. From what I hear, he would love to play Sammy Davis Jr. and Jimi Hendrix, but no decisions have been made on whether he would star in the films.

As you all know, their will be a Jay Z segment on tonight's show, so with respect, I decided to do a little research on blueprint 3.. From what I hear, the majority of the album is finished. Producers on the album are: Kanye West, No ID (check out his page at www.noidvstraxster.com), and a few others. From what I hear, wether it is Ye's album or Hov I'm not sure but Kanye's new sound has been a lot of dark sounding synths mixed with old school hip-hop breaks and samples. Here is a list I found of the supposed tracks on his album:
01. Wake Up New York (Intro)
02. Most Kings
03. Hades (Lucifer Pt. II)
04. Eternal Jewels (ft. Jay Electronica) [prod. by Jay Electronica]
05. Blueprint 3
06. Lucy (ft. Chris Martin)
07. The Audacity of Dope
08. S.L.U. Pt. 2 (ft. Nas, Andre 3000, and Young Jeezy)
09. Election Night (We believe in Obama)
10. Just Memories
11. Apostate (ft. Eminem) [prod. by Eminem]
12. Oasis
13. My Brothers Keeper (ft. Scarface)
14. Brooklyn Lost
15. Weeds & Concrete
16. Without Rain
Jay says he's "in the zone" with blueprint 3 which is good to hear. I'll definitely be reaching out to NO ID to get his take on this album. He told me all hype aside that American Gangster was a classic and he was right so I'll see what he says about this one.. My only question would be the guest appearances. Don't get me wrong, they all look great but I loved how American Gangster was all Jay with one Beanie verse. Not sure how I feel about Young Jeezy and Chris Martin being on songs but who knows.. If it is hot it is hot.. and those seem to be Kanye's partners so we'll see.. More info coming soon!

Here is a sneak peak of a new song by Justin Timberlake titled, "Steppin' Out Tonight," which is reportedly supposed to be on his upcoming album. I have always liked Justin Timberlake as an artist and even when he was in N Sync because I knew he had talent. I like his work with The Neptunes better, but he is definitely doing his thing. I like what I hear from his new project so far.

What's up everyone, we are taking a new direction in the blog posts. Within the next few days we will no longer be a "pop music" news blog. We will change our focus to only good/quality music. We will be spending more time focusing on artists that deserve to be focused on and less time focusing on bubblegum artists that are desperately trying to do anything to make a "hit" with no sense of continuity, creative direction, or inspiration. We will also be trying to bring light to more new artists. We (the world), as a global economy are going into a deep recession and possible depression. Times like this are no time to be promoting "light weight fluff" music. So from now on, we will be devoted only to true artists and people that are taking positive steps in music. Also, we will be expanding the site to not only include rnb and hip-hop artists but various genres of good music. Thanks for reading and get ready for a new stayondeck.com!! Also, make sure you bookmark my personal site thecashmerecartel.blogspot.com.. Thanks and tune in to Spivey's show right here tues @ 8pm!! I'll be there

This album is a breath of fresh air.. I've been hearing that Saadiq was inspired by motown for a while now.. Clearly the inspiration is genuine because the album is GREAT! make sure you download it from itunes and help support better music like this!

This group should be called Nicole Scherzinger and The Pussycat Dolls. Haha!! I mean, those girls look like her back up dancers. She was the only one even singing on this song. Nicole did try her solo thing, but it didn't work out. And how many videos are they going to come out with? LOL!!! The song is nice though...

Jon. B is challenging Robin Thicke to a piano battle. He contends there is no beef and I think Jon B. is doing things all in fun. Robin Thicke is cool, but I am a bigger fan of Jon B. This piano battle is actually a little corny, but I would have to give the title to Jon B. anyday! Which artist do you like the best? Jon B. or Robin Thicke?

Now that he is done dropping it like it's hot on "Dancing with the Stars," Mario is ready to release another album. The singer stated that it would be nothing like he has ever done before. Regarding his album, Mario says, "I have to say I've done some real fun things this year but working on my new album has been the highlight. Don't expect anything you've heard before!" Reportedly, he has been in the studio with producers such as, Rodney Jerkins, Polow Da Don, Red One, Jazzy Pha, and Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds. At this time, there is no word on when the album will be released. It seems like he has some good producers behind him. I can't wait to see if his material really is different....

For all of my people's out there that love "ol' skool" music, ya'll remember The Fat Boys? Well, they are ready for a comeback. After 15 years apart, they are ready to put out an album together, even though one of the members of the group, Buffy, passed away back in '95. Among other things, they have a reality show in the works. When I think of The Fat Boys, all I can think about is Krush Groove. They were in that movie with LL Cool, Run and DMC, Kurtis Blow, Blair Underwood, Etc. I wonder if the new album will be worth listening to?

Since the first day that Beyonce and Jay-Z started dating, they have been hush hush about their relationship. In the current issue of Essence Magazine, she finally spills the beans. In regards to her wedding ring she stated, "People put too much emphasis on that. It's just material, and it's just silly to me." As for her man is concerned, she stated, "What Jay and I have is real. It's not about interviews or getting the right photo op. It's real. We've been together a long time. We always knew [marriage] would happen."
I am glad that these two have a solid marriage. I wish them the best of luck!! And I do not blame Beyonce for trying to keep her marriage private...

Tiffany Pollard aka New York from "Flavor of Love" and her own series "I Love New York" is suffering from a case of Haterade Syndrome...According to In Touch Weekly, Tiffany talked some smack about Jennifer new engagement to Punk from "I Love New York 2." She recently stated: “He’s really loving being Mr. Jennifer Hudson. I think he’s loving the lavish things she brings to his life, he’s seeing the world due to Jennifer’s success, [But] can you love this person if they lose all of this tomorrow? She needs to find out.
And even though, though I think he may be a little "sweet" on the edges, why is Tiffany even tripping??? I mean for all, he was on her show and she could've have picked him right? Just thought I would check ya know?? But of course, we all know "hateration" is what New York is known for. It's her persona. Anyway, I wonder if Jennifer will ever respond to Tiffany comments or just ignore her? I know I am definitely tired of New York and I still think that they shouldn't have given her yet another show on VH1...Anyways, let me know what you all think...
I just hope people are marrying each other for the right reasons. It’s a mixed match, it won’t work. He’ll be in her shadow like Al Reynolds was to Star Jones, like Stedman Graham is to Oprah.
When we were in Miami together, he didn’t even try anything [on me]!
Maybe I wasn’t his type, maybe I wasn’t big enough for him.
Two weeks ago, I ran into [Jennifer and David] and I didn’t say much.
I said ‘Goodbye, Punk!’ and she looked at me like ‘What!’
I know his name’s David, but I call him Punk.”

There has been a lot of talk about Nas and Kelis. People have been saying that these two are headed for trouble and that their relationship is on the rocks...Well, that doesn't appear to be true now. The couple seems to be stronger than ever as Nas recently invited his wife on stage with him at a Smirnoff Party the other day to perform "If I Ruled the World." There are a lot of Nas and Kelis fans out there. I posted a poll a few months ago about couples in the music business and Jay-Z and Beyonce didn't win. It was Kelis and Nas that took the title!! Anyway, I am glad that they are still going strong!

At first I had to do a double take on this picture!! It didn't look like Aubrey from Danity Kane at first, but yes it is. She arrived at some party yesterday looking like she died, went to hell, and then came back. LOL!! The girl has really been looking like a hot mess....Didn't somebody tell her it ain't Halloween yet????!! She seriously looks like a ghost!! That poor dog is probably mortified out of his mind!! LOL!!
Last night, Diddy kicked her out of Danity Kane. The finale will come on next Tuesday. Do you think she is really kicked out of the group or is Diddy just sh*tting around? Remember he did give Laurie ann Gibson the boot and now she is back so who knows???? I do know one thing is for sure....Aubrey needs to get off of whatever stuff she is on!!

The first song is titled, "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" and the second one is a slow ballad called, "If I Were A Boy." I still haven't decided what I think about these songs. He took that #1 spot. T.I's first week sales of 568,000 for his new album Paper Trail, earned him that #1 spot on the Billboard 200 charts. This is his third #1 on the Billboard 200 charts. T.I. is also killing things with his new single "Live Your Life" featuring Rihanna on the billboard charts. Jennifer Hudson also had a great week by selling 217,000 copies of her self-titled debut album. Robin Thicke held the #3 spot with his new album Something Else, which sold 137,000 copies. In my book, they all had very impressive sales for the first week and that would definitely have me smiling.
Michelle Williams of Destiny's Child released her CD Unexpected yesterday. I wonder if she will have the same amount of luck that T.I., Jennifer Hudson, and Robin Thicke did? I guess we can only find out next week what her first week of album sales looks like...

The other day, Mariah and Nick Cannon were spotted kissing at his birthday bash. I swear they are so cute together!! They seem like they are really in love and are bound to prove to the haters that they will last. Rumors are floating around that the couple is working on putting a bun in her oven. A source recently told Ok! Magazine that she has been looking a little "ripe" lately. The source also added that she has been seeing her OB-GYN several times recently to prepare for pregnancy. Whether she is preggars or not remains to be seen, but I am sure that if they keep showing that PDA like that, they are bound to hit the jackpot!!!

How many of you ladies out there have felt that desire; that overwhelming urge to bust out the windows of your cheating man's car? That is what Jazmine Sullivan is singing about in her new video. Now, I am a little disappointed and baffled by this video. I mean, I was expecting to see her busting out some windows, but all she was doing was breaking champagne glasses????...Uh, nice visual you director YOU...Haha!! What you should've done was hand that girl a baseball bat and let her get down to business!! Haha!! There would've been no smiling if I directed this joint; just hair flying around and rage!! Haha!! Oh well. I love the song. It's one of my favorites on the album and I have to give her props. She looked really cute in the video. What do you all think of the video?

Ummmm.....I am not too sure of that. She's had great fashion sense lately. And yeah she dropped an album Ashanti this year, after a brief hiatis, but how is a flop a big comeback??? Her album The Declaration tanked!!!! I just need to know. Anyway, Nelly's boo is on the cover of the new issue of Today's Black Woman Magazine and get's the title of being "The Biggest Comeback Story of the Year," which in my opinion is far from reality. Even, Ashanti's boo Nelly failed to have a great sales debut with his album Brass Knuckles. Oh well, at least they still have each other....

I am sure that many of you have got wind of the Danity Kane rumors lately. Apparently, word on the street is that the group is in trouble. Some have said that Dawn is leaving the group in pursuit of a solo career. Some say that Diddy is just going to give a member of the group the axe. And the last rumor is that Danity Kane is a done deal. We will all find out the real scoop live October 14th on MTV. Then, we will know what's really good with the girls. The group is going to speak to the viewers and fans about the drama that went down between them and let us know the current state of things. I can only say one thing. Something definitely smells fishy, but you know the media always beefs up a situation. There could be something really going on, but at the same time, nothing ya know? I guess we will all find out next week. Until then, give me your thoughts on the matter. Do you think this is the end of Danity Kane as we know them? Weigh in below:

Okay so I just found out that recently Rick Ross admitted that he was a correctional officer in Don Diva Magazine. Uh....I am sure that all of you remember that he was denying ever being a correctional officer even though photos surfaced of him on The Smoking Gun.com as a C.O. Well, now he is taking his words back and then some. His statements are as follows regarding the photo:"Yes, it's me. I never tried to hide my past. I put my name inside my CDs. My company has my [Social Security number]. I could've put a company name...I done been up and I done been down and that's what makes me what I am. I never ratted on a nigga. I never prosecuted a nigga. I never locked up a nigga, that's first and foremost. I always felt that me being the nigga that I am, I never owed a nigga an explanation. When I'm making my music and I'm talking about blow, it's because I did it. When I say that I'm rich off cocaine, it's because I did it. Those are the street principals that apply."
Hmmm...he says he never tried to hide his past, but did. He told a boldfaced lie as a matter of fact. His business is his business, but when you are exposed why keep lying and making the situation worst. You gotta keep it 100 from the jump!! Oh well. Now he looks like a complete idiot and fake. Do you think this will hurt his credibility as an artist? I can say that this is not a surprised. We all knew that was Ricky in those photos. Haha!!

Remember Paris Bennett from American Idol Season: Season 5? She was one of my favorite during that season by the way. Anyhow, she just gave birth to a 5 pound, 15 ounce baby daughter. The singer recently told People:"I'm so excited to finally see my little angel and, man, does she have lungs on her. I guess she’s gearing up to the be the next American Idol.”
The singer chooses not to reveal the identity of the father at this time because he does not want to be in the public eye. He will be apart of the child's life according to "Princess P." In the meantime, her upcoming Christmas album will drop on October 14.
Congratulations Paris on your new joy! I didn't even know she was preggars till now...

Despite finding out that Kim Kardashian stold a lot of change from Brandy and her family, the singer set the record straight. She says she still has love for Kim and it would be weird if they saw each other on the street, but she still has love for her. Also, she said Kim is a sweet person. Some of the blogs said that Brandy's comments were rude, but I do not think she was rude at all. I mean, she could've got really ill with it, especially since Kim stole from her family, but she said she has love for her. I wonder if that pending court case will ever be settled? Brandy also talked about her brother's infamous sex tape with the reality superstar. She stated that she has never seen the tape and I do not blame her. I mean, who would want to see a tape of their brother having sex?? Not I!!! In the interview Brandy also talks about her upcoming project with her brother Ray J. Check it out!

I love this video!!! It's all futuristic, psychodelic and everything else you could think of! You know Common must've spent some major stacks on this one. This is definitely a hot joint. I have been rocking this song in my car for a while. This sound is a little different for Common, but kinda reminds me of what he was doing on that Electric Circus album, which was highly experimental. I think that was when he was messing around with Erykah Badu and she twisted up his head a little bit. It seems that he is still trying to be creative without Ms. Badu. I can't wait to hear the new Common album, which drops on sometime in November. Oh, and another plus to this video is Pharrell!!!! You know I am a big fan!! Haha!! What do you think about the video?

In today edition of "Tales of the Delirious and Confused," Foxy performs at her own birthday party with a "tired" hairdo!!! How are you gonna do that girl?!! She betta not be calling herself Foxy Brown looking like that. It looks like it is about to fall out in the back too!! Girl, you had to be delirious that night to get on stage looking like a trainwreck. She seriously looks like she got into a car wreck and then ran to her party so she wouldn't be late. LOL!!
That's the end of the tales for today...Let's just hope that she seeks help for this slip-up by getting a hairstylist to re-do that weave!!!

Nah, it's Rihanna. Haha!! Apparently, RiRi got a little pissed a few weeks ago when she was mistaken for Prince!!! Dang!! If that one does not bite. LOL!! Some of her fans in the good 'ole UK thought she was Prince! They saw her and yelled "Prince, The Purple One!!!" When she got up close to sign autographs, they realized that it was nothing, but Rihanna looking embarrassed as h*ll!!!! I wonder if she will change her hairstyle after this? Man, I would have been so embarrassed and mad inside after hearing that. LOL! Do you think she looks Prince? Her hairstyle gets close to the "pretty" superstar, but nah....she doesn't look like him. Haha!!

Well after the success of Lil Wayne's Tha Carter III, he is ready to get back in the booth. The rapper announced this in his blog the other day. He stated that he is currently working on Tha Carter IV and also a new mixtape. His exact words are as follows: "I've been busy in the studio, and right now I'm working on a mix tape, along with Tha Carter IV," read Wayne's entry. "The mixed tape you can expect real soon. It's called Dedication 3, and it's going to be Gangsta Grillz by DJ Drama. And then right after that, I'm putting that same mix tape out with twenty extra songs for free on my website."
Weezy's Tha Carter III sold major units; 2.5 million to be exact, which is a lot of records nowadays. Do you think he can hit the jackpot next time around. Weezy's block is definitely hot right about now...

The first joint is LL Cool J "Loungin (Remix)" ft. Total. I used to love this song. That joint came out when LL Cool was still doing it pretty big. With the sales of his new album, is it time for him to throw in the towel? His new album Exit 13 sold about 44,000 copies in the first week. It had LL Cool J thinking twice about giving up because he was pissed that Jessica Simpson even did better than him during the first week. Haha!! Anyway, Happy Reminiscing!!!
Also, check out "Kissin' You" by Total. Remember when they used to be with Bad Boy? I miss those days. This song was produced by the talented Raphael Saadiq who released a new album a few weeks ago. I wonder what happened to Total? If anyone remembers, let me know!!
