Lil Wayne FAILED
but hip-hop isn't' dead. Lil Wayne just bumped himself right out of my current top ten list for his pathetic attempt at a classic hip-hop album. I have been cheering Wayne on the whole time and anticipating the release of the Carter 3 more than any other album this year but the truth is this album is "luke warm" at best. He has about 500 cameos and producers. The album has no continuity and hardly any substance. The only stand out song lyrically is his song with Robin Thick where he is talking about hurricane Katrina etc but ultimately this song still doesn't fit in with the album and is really on some pop shit too. If you want to buy an album where a guy raps about how hot he is every other line than this album is for you. If you want to buy an album with concepts, originality, and continuity then go back and buy Jay Z's American Gangster album because Weezy's album isn't any of those things. It is outrageous that he compares himself to Big, Pac, Jay, and my man 3 stacks. He isn't even close to being in the same league as those guys after this album. I think Wayne blacked out on a few mixtapes and now he thinks he can do no wrong with hook lyrics such as "we are not one in the same/ I am a Martian." Ok great.. that was hot when you dropped it in your Jay z show me what you got call out but how are you going to write a hook on that some weird vampire music? You know who Wayne has turned into = Dr Octagon aka Kool Keith who also like Wayne did too many drugs. His flow has turned monotonous, his lyrics aren't focused, and most of the beats he picked aren't right for him. How can someone put something out like this after releasing the extra hot "like father like son" album with Baby?? and after claiming that he is going to "save hip-hop."
