Remember When We Were DMX Fans
When was the last time you said I wanna hear some DMX? Hold on I'll wait...... DMX first step on the scene with successful guest appearance on LL Cool J's "4, 3, 2, 1", Mase's "24 Hours to Live" and The LOX's "Money, Power, Respect" which created a stronger buzz than he already had. In 1998 he released his debut Def Jam single, "Get At Me Dog". The song went gold. It's Dark and Hell Is Hot was released in May 1998. But if you thought that was a lucky try; on January 25. Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood entered the charts at number one (670,000 sold in its first week). DMX was a certify star who was the only artist to release 5 consecutive #1 albums. With having a successful budding movie career and a cult following with his music there was no limit to his star power. Nowadays, some would say that DMX career began suffering because of a crack addiction that he also admitted to having. DMX recently signed to Bodog Music to release his next album, Walk With Me Now and You'll Fly With Me Later (gospel album). Is there any room at the top for a real MC nowadays? Who knows with all the wack music people are accepting now. Whether he flops or sells; we at least have memories. Now again, remember when we were DMX fans? Better yet remember when you weren't feeling your best, felt like fighting or in a relationship you shouldn't be in. Then listen to your favorite DMX song and there is a guaranteed you will remember.
