Mariah Knocks Leona Lewis From the #1 Spot on the Billboard Charts for the Week of April 7, 2008!
This week R&B diva Mariah Carey has earned a #1 spot on the Hot 100 Billboard music charts. Her current single "Touch My Body" from her upcoming album titled E=MC2 has knocked British starlet Leona Lewis from the coveted #1 spot! This is her 18th number one single! Does she ever stop? Will she keep adding to that list with her new album? I guess we will have to see......Usher's new song "Love In This Club" is rising back up the charts, which I am sure has something to do with the official release of the video. Rumor has it that Usher's new wife was upset when she heard that the beautiful Keri Hilson was in the video.
At #3, Madonna is back with her new single "4 Minutes" featuring Justin Timberlake. If I would take a wild guess.....Timbaland produced the track. And you know that anything Timbaland puts his hands on nowadays is a certified hit! I heard she is taking more of an R&B and Hip-Hop direction with her new album. It looks like Madonna still has it!
British songstress Leona Lewis holds the #4 spot with her single "Bleeding Love." Last week, she held the #1 spot, but moved down a little this week. This girl has been popping up everywhere and I heard that Simon Cowell is her manager. People may hate Simon for his wild antics and big mouth, but I do have to give this man credit. He knows what he is talking about and can spot a star from a mile away. My advice to idol contestants; listen to Simon! Haha....
Speaking of Idol.......Last years American Idol Winner Jordin Sparks and R&B prince Chris Brown are at #5 with their single "No Air." Ray J and Yung Berg remain steady at #6 with the single "Sexy Can I." I heard that we have something in store for us with the new album. A few of his tracks are leaking everywhere.
Lil' Wayne featuring Static Major (R.I.P) holds the #7 spot with "Lollipop." This song is also noted as being an airplay gainer so definitely expect this song to hold a higher chart position next week...... Chris Brown does not want to leave the charts and is currently listed at #8. He has been on the charts for about 18 weeks and I do not see him disappearing anytime soon! Ending at #10 this week is Flo Rida featuring T-Pain with "Low." This is another track that has been on the charts for a while.
Will Mariah continue to hold the #1 spot next week or will Usher get back into top position? The results are definitely unclear. Madonna or Leona Lewis could easily take that #1 spot as well. Who will it be? Which one will take the number one spot next week?
