Alicia Keys on the Cover of Blender Magazine.....And She's Getting Political
Things are about to get political up in here! In a recent interview with Blender Magazine, the singer Alicia Keys states that gangsta rap "was a ploy to convince black people to kill each other and that gangsta rap didn't exist." Reportedly, she has been reading books about the Black Panthers and wears a AK-47 gold pendant around her neck "to symbolize strength, power, and killing 'em dead."
The interview from Blender Magazine, will hit newstands on April 15, 2008. Interestingly, she also states that "the government and media caused the deaths of Tupac and Biggie," in a ploy to "stop another great black leader from existing." Her ending comments mentioned how black leaders of the past did not have the outlet that musicians have today. As a result, she is going to write more political songs.
This election seems to have Miss. Keys fired up! I bet you anything that's what got her in this frame of mind. I don't know what to say about this one ya'll. However, I must say that I feel some of her comments were taken out of context because they are pretty radical. Now trust me, I believe the government is doing some messed up things, but I don't know if I buy this Tupac and Biggie conspiracy. Nonetheless, I respect her making a statement and taking a stand in what she believes in. It is refreshing for an artist to speak on what is going on in the world today, instead of the same cliche' subject matters. What do you guys think?

Alicia is a talented artist but I think it's pretty safe to say that she is an idiot.
I first read about her interview with Blender from my fellow blogger Juan Perez over on Highbrid Nation. I couldnt beleive it. I had always thought she was smart. Little did I know. In reality she is a cross between a Black Panther and a retard.
...she still looks good though ;).
